SAIMI is intended to serve South Africa and the African continent by promoting skills development, education, training and research that supports growth of the blue economy.
SAIMI is a multi-disciplinary, multi-stakeholder institute that is active in all aspects of the maritime sector, including shipping, fishing, harbours, manufacturing and construction, sustainability, environment, law, and marine tourism, as well as linking with marine and coastal sciences.
