Multiple award-winners’ Selaelo Selota and The Muffinz will lead an evening of classic and modern takes on the genre of Jazz on Friday, 12 October 2018 as part of the monthly Birchwood Comes Alive Jazz evenings at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg.
Lauded for his African-centric Jazz music, Selota’s sounds are inspired traditional songs and dances of a broad variety of ethnic groups. Having been a producer and composer, he assisted in launching the careers of iconic musicians such as Judith Sephuma.
After four albums, an international tour and many hit singles over the past six years, The Muffinz are known for their universal appeal across various ages, classes and races. The five band members are the ingredients to The Muffinz with their individuality and talent.
Opening for the main artists is the Music School of Jazz Orchestra who were so well received in previous shows that they will once again be gracing the Birchwood stage in this month’s event.
Affectionately named The Schoolboy by friend and fellow stand-up comedian Trevor Gumbi, Sipho Ntuli, also known for his involvement in Motsweding FM, Thobela FM, YFM and Lesedi FM, will both be tickling the audience’s funny bone, along with resident MC Hector Motivator.
