PRETORIA – 2 NOVEMBER 2018 – Hennie de Klerk, South Africa’s DAKAR 2018 Rookie Award champion, will be competing in the 50th Tara Namibia Rally in Windhoek, taking place from 8 – 10 November at the Tony Rust Race Track in Windhoek.
For the 50th anniversary of this gruelling event, the stages will start in Swakopmund on the 8th November and will spread all the way to Windhoek with some high-speed stages along the way to finish on the 10th. The route will trace its historic beginnings over three gruelling days of rallying, and the event promises to be challenging and tough.
Hennie commented, “This will be the first time that I compete in a rally race and in Namibia, but I completely fell in love with the country when I was during practise sessions in the dunes at Walvisbay a few weeks ago. Although my expertise lies in off-road racing, we are looking forward to a great weekend of racing.”
