Zapper Launches New Version of Their Rewarding Payment App

Zapper Launches New Version of Their Rewarding Payment App:

In keeping with its tradition of delivering impressive innovations within the FinTech space, mobile payment app Zapper has once again upped its game. The company has just launched a new and improved version of its award-winning payment app – Zapper V2.

Available today for iOS and Android users, the new version of Zapper has been optimised with numerous enhancements, in both aspects of its user interface and functionality.

Zapper V2 offers an even faster payment experience than before, with more detailed information during the payments process. All adjustments to a bill including voucher redemptions, bill splitting and tips are now reflected in the same window. This allows customers to review all modifications to a bill, and make any other adjustments if required, before confirming payment.

The app also displays a more intuitive design. The new look homepage provides an even easier navigation journey to the app’s most loved features, including a direct entry point to loyalty cards and vouchers. In this way, users get the most out of rewards offers, with real time updates that allow them to view available vouchers within their immediate radius, and track the progress of their loyalty cards.

Additional feature highlights include notifications of expired cards, shareable in-app receipts, improved UX when adding cards, fully-detailed payment history, simplified settings and more.

“One of the primary objectives for redesigning the Zapper app was to simplify the payment process even further and surface our core product offerings,” said Jessica Fowlds, Marketing and Communications Manager for Zapper.

“The success of Zapper has always been in part, due to a dedication for providing a customer-centric product that positively impacts upon people’s lifestyles. With the release of Zapper V2 we continue to provide users with a world-class payment platform that meets their need for ease, convenience and a more rewarding way to pay,” said Fowlds.

Zapper V2 has been released simultaneously in South Africa and international markets including UK, USA and Europe where Zapper has established itself as a popular means of payment – providing both local and global users with the same enriched payment experience.

To experience Zapper V2, users may download the app or update their existing app from the app store on the iOS or Android supported mobile phone.

Sky’s the Limit for Zapper and FlySafair

Sky’s the Limit for Zapper and FlySafair:

Flysafair flights

Getting around South Africa by plane just became a whole lot easier. Awarding-winning airline FlySafair and Zapper, the rewarding mobile payment company have joined forces to make booking flights as pleasant as possible.

Travellers can now use the Zapper app to pay for FlySafair tickets online, as well as at the airline’s web kiosk and sales desk at OR Tambo International Airport.

This time-saving and frictionless payment option eliminates the need for passengers to complete mandatory payment information fields. Customers simply select the option to pay with Zapper, scan a QR code on their computer screen with their smartphone and confirm the amount due. Fast, safe and hassle free.

Customers booking tickets via mobile devices enjoy the same ease and convenience. Zapper’s deep-linking technology allows them to tap the generated QR code to confirm payment.
In this way passengers experience simplified payment journeys, resulting in an enhanced FlySafair experience long before they even get on board.

“By introducing Zapper as an additional payment method, we provide our customers more options and greater flexibility. Zapper is a good fit in driving FlySafair’s strategy to become the most innovative airline in the country – driven by leading edge technology trends and seamless user behaviour,” said Eswee Vorster, FlySafair’s Head of IT & Innovation.

As the first air carrier to pilot Zapper payments within the global aviation industry, FlySafair has propelled customer service in air travel to the next level. Another achievement since being voted most on-time airline in the world by air travel intelligence specialist, OAG for the second year in a row.

With this successful entrance into the air travel market, Zapper has once again extended its footprint beyond the hospitality, retail, bills and donations sectors. The company is now one step closer to becoming the preferred payment and digital marketing solution for businesses and brands across all industries.

“As mobile drives the future of payments forward, Zapper continues to champion the cause by providing a rewarding payment option that enhances users’ lifestyles. Faster and more efficient checkouts when paying for flights is yet another way we bring additional convenience to peoples’ lives,” said Konrad Karczmarczyk, Regional Sales Manager for Zapper South Africa.

MRP Foundation Makes Donating Easier with Zapper

MRP Foundation Makes Donating Easier with Zapper:

Mobile payment and loyalty rewards company Zapper has partnered with MRP Foundation, the CSR division of the Mr Price Group. This will enable the Non-Profit Organisation to now accept mobile donations through QR code technology.

With the Ride for MRP Foundation fast approaching on December 3-4, the Foundation and its partners are running a competition to win a new Nissan Micra Active as part of their R1 million fundraising initiative. The Ride for MRP Foundation is a 606km ride from Johannesburg to Durban, featuring 50 brave cyclists and Springbok Rugby Legend John Smit.

To enter the competition, individuals simply scan the QR code with the Zapper app from their smartphone and donate R20 to the cause. Entrants may increase their chances of driving off with the prize by increasing the donation value. Each dividend of R20 donated counts as one additional entry.

For the month of October MRP Money account holders can find the competition QR code on their printed and emailed bill statements. The QR code can also be found on the MRP Foundation website, as well as the MRP Foundation and Zapper South Africa Facebook pages.

The donation journey is easy, safe and immediate with everything processed through the app for complete convenience.

All funds raised are channelled into the MRP Foundation’s education and skills development programmes that empower South African youth from low income communities to unlock their full potential and build brighter futures.

The competition runs from 15 September until 6 December 2017, and is subject to terms and conditions. For more information go to http://www.mrpfoundation.org/

Zapper Empowers Homeless Artists by Establishing Chuma Somdaka Art Foundation

Zapper Empowers Homeless Artists by Establishing Chuma Somdaka Art Foundation:

As part of its ongoing philanthropic endeavours, mobile payment and loyalty rewards company Zapper is establishing a foundation dedicated to uplifting underprivileged artists– the Chuma Somdaka Art Foundation.

The foundation is inspired by Chuma Somdaka, a promising street artist who due to unforeseen circumstances found herself sleeping on a park bench for three years in the Company’s Garden in Cape Town.

Upon hearing her story on Carte Blanche in 2016, Zapper reached out to Chuma and is empowering her to use her art to earn a living, and in so doing, journey away from life on the streets.

In partnership with 100ForChange, Zapper is currently covering Chuma’s expenses for accommodation and meals in a clean and safe residence while she studies towards an art degree at the prestigious Ruth Prowse School of Art in Woodstock, Cape Town.

In addition, Zapper has developed a digital platform for Chuma to sell her art and is assisting her in developing skills that will empower her as a young entrepreneur.

“Zapper has helped Chuma set up a business online where she can sell her art and begin making a name for herself across the world. The online store will eventually become a hub for South African art, acting as a platform for local artists who don’t have the means to market their artwork – to display and sell it internationally,” said Jessica Fowlds, Marketing and Communications Manager for Zapper.

With Chuma’s vision and Zapper’s commitment to creating a platform for positive change, the Chuma Somdaka Art Foundation endeavours to mentor, uplift and inspire promising South African artists from disadvantaged backgrounds, so that they too may turn a dream into a reality.

All donations made on the Chuma Somdaka Art Foundation website will assist the organisation with achieving its goal to make a difference in a meaningful and sustainable way.
