An Invitation To All SA Artists To Exhibit:
Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth): Art on Target, an art school and gallery in Gqeberha has issued an open call for entries to all artists in all media for submission of works to be exhibited at their annual Same Size, Same Price, No Signature Exhibition which will open on 17 August 2022 at 2 Target Kloof, Essexvale. The entry deadline is 12 August 2022.
Artists over the age of 18 and resident in South Africa are invited to enter. The exhibition is unselected, providing a forum for artists, both novice and professional, to exhibit their works side-by-side in celebration of community and the visual arts. The art is unsigned, conforms to one size and each work will be available at a fixed price. This prompts buyers to respond on visual appeal only. Perhaps an opportunity to buy a well-known artist’s work at a gift of a price? Most definitely a chance to support South African talent.
The Same Size, Same Price, No Signature Exhibition was initiated by doyen of the Eastern Cape art world Tossie Theron, who hosted it for many years. In 2019, Art on Target took up the mantle and it has flourished. The number of entries and visitors grow significantly year upon year making this exhibition an extremely popular event on Gqeberha’s art calendar.
