The Minister of Employment and Labour, Mr. Thulas Nxesi and the European Union (EU) ‘s Ambassador to South Africa, Dr Riina Kionka, will headline an online seminar tomorrow aimed at analysing results of an innovative international programme, Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE). SCORE is aimed at improving productivity within the Clothing and Textile Manufacturing Sector. In 2016, the National Bargaining Council for the Clothing Manufacturing Industry (NBCCMI), clothing industry trade union (SACTWU) and employer associations, established the Productivity and Training Institute (PTI).
The programme was underpinned by the pilot implementation of the International Labour Organization’s tried-and-tested SCORE programme. The goal was to help clothing manufacturers and their employees develop competitive and sustainable workplaces through improved industrial. The webinar will also be addressed by union members and implementing agency, Productivity SA, as follows:
