For the past three weekends, Tropika made its way around South Africa looking for young fresh talent to join the Tropika Island of Treasure season 10 All-Stars. Targeted were three of the country’s major cities as hosts for this year’s All-star season auditions, which kicked off on the 20th of May 2022 at Canal Walk in Cape Town, followed by Durban on the weekend of the 27th of May and wrapped the last leg of the audition’s roadshow in Johannesburg at Sandton City on the weekend of the 3rd of June.
South African talent from across the spectrum came through in droves to show off their smoooth moves and stunt their personalities. We were excited to see influencer Angela Ndlela from Durban, and Vourne? Kgosinkwe from Johannesburg. The excitement was felt throughout the various audition locations where spectacular mega booths were built and consumers privately recorded their entry videos.
Cheerful song and dance caught the attention of shoppers and by-passers captivated by some of South Africa’s most loved faces. Amazing instant prizes were on offer, hidden under bottle caps where the word “TREASURE” guaranteed an instant prize that could go as high as R250 000 in value. This was the case for one lucky Tropika product fan, Nicodemus Mampa, a 25-year-old retail worker who won one of the biggest grand prizes, R250 000 worth of Suzuki Products to be used across their showrooms and stores nationwide. ‘This means a lot to me; a breakthrough I have been praying for’- says Mampa as he plans to start his own dairy business with the help of his great win.
