Cape Town, South Africa, March 04, 2024 – Musiquelaine SA, a respected non-profit organisation dedicated to nurturing talent, fostering cultural understanding, and championing the universal language of music, celebrated its 10th-anniversary celebration on the 21st of February 2024!
Founder Lainey Trequesser expresses deep gratitude for the organisation’s journey thus far and anticipates the forthcoming relaunch as pivotal. “This anniversary not only commemorates a decade of empowering at-risk youth through music but also signifies the dawn of a new era as we relaunch with renewed energy and purpose,” she shares.
Chairperson Ahmien van der Walt echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the relaunch as a reaffirmation of the organisation’s commitment to cultural diversity, social cohesion, and intercultural exchange. “Our relaunch isn’t just about honoring the past; it’s about embracing the future with fresh perspectives and unwavering dedication,” he adds.
As part of the relaunch festivities, Musiquelaine SA proudly announces the continuation of its partnership with the esteemed Orchestre National de Jazz (ONJ) and an upcoming collaborative performance scheduled for March 21, 2024. The 3rd C-Flat Youth Jazz Festival will not only showcase the talent and progress of participants from both organizations but also symbolize the commencement of a renewed commitment to artistic collaboration and cultural exchange, sponsored by the French Institute. The event will take place at Floreat Primary School Hall in Steenberg between 16:00 and 18:00.
Frédéric Maurin, Artistic Director of the ONJ, expresses enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its significance in the context of the organisation’s relaunch. “The collaboration epitomizes a harmonious fusion of tradition and innovation, reflecting our shared vision for the future of music,” he remarks.
