67 0000 Reasons of Hope:

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, 17 September 2020: Mall of the South reached out to the local community and gave hope to those in need.

The #HelpThyNeighbour team collected non-perishable foods, toiletries and cleaning materials for St Mary’s Children’s Home, Bellavista Crèche, Swinburn home for the elderly and to Meals on Wheels: Alberton Haddon and Walkerville.

Local resident Rebaone Peters joined the #HelpThyNeighbour initiative with her blanket drive to give back to J29 Community Care Centre that cares for eighty households in Katlehong. These families have grannies that care for children, most of which are orphans. Rebaone made a meaningful contribution to her community by collecting blankets and food essentials to the Centre.

With the support of the community, over R67 000 worth of items were collected and was shared equally among the beneficiaries. Mall of the South General Manager, Hester Smith said, “Our community once again reached out to #HelpThyNeighbour and we humbly extend our gratitude to the following contributors that supported this worthy cause: Cell paradise, Miss Jo’burg South 2019/2020 Michelle Moolman, Quatro Holdings Cleaning and Security Services, Rotary Johannesburg South 101, shoppers, Sojo (South of Johannesburg Business and Tourism), the covid-19 info kiosk and WD Signs”.
