Creating a platform that enriches, inspires, and uplifts a transforming Africa.:
We as Africa have been on the back foot of development for many years as compared to the rest of the world. Thus, it is imperative for us to celebrate our own continent and highlight our own achievements. I believe that the best way for us to reach this pinnacle, is to share our experiences and unpack our stories through conversations that will allow that the audience to fully comprehend the African narrative.
#ConnectAfricaMoyane is a platform that focuses on African sharing stories, connecting experiences and excellence. Further, given everything that is happening in the world right now, we as Africans need to find authentic ways to uplift, enrich and inspire ourselves to instill a culture that passes down to future generations.
When I created this platform, the main question I had was “what can we as the older African generation, give future African generations that will ensure an accurate, honest, and rich account of our experiences?”, the answer being to create this platform. The best way to connect with people is through conversations that share stories with the hopes of igniting the inner fire within people to pursue their paths. Further, to encourage the future generation to do better given the resources at their disposal that the older generation didn’t have.
This platform is aimed at uplifting the lives of all Africans of all ages across all sectors. Guests on the show are ordinary Africans who do extraordinary things on the African continent and around the world, sharing their journey and transferring their knowledge.
For too long, we have allowed others to narrate our story but it is now the responsibility of Africans to empower the continent. Yes, our leaders may be at the forefront, but it is the ordinary citizen who can have the most significance in creating real change. Globally, Africans have contributed so much to different kinds of spheres like business, arts, culture, sports, science, and many other fields, and I hope that #ConnectAfricaMoyane will serve as an instrument to amplify the achievements of our guests and further highlight what Africa has to offer. As the great Nigerian author Chinua Achebe said, “Until the lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will always glorify the hunter.” So, we must tell our own story, more and more.
A united Africa is important and more so ensuring its sustainable economic growth. The African continent is home to 55 African countries, each with its own development problems such as education, health care, security, and economic competitiveness.
However, Africa is one of the few continents rich in both human and natural resources. We live in progressive times and having partners that help share the same vision and understand how this will be achieved is very important. Africa needs to partner with stakeholders who will strive for growth on the African continent. The sooner leaders, and not just political leaders, but all African leaders start being activists for our continent, unite in fighting against corruption, gender inequality, and poverty, the sooner we can get Africa on the road to strength.
