Investec awarded best derivatives clearing provider in Africa:

Investec has picked up the Best Derivatives Clearing Provider Award at Thursday’s Africa Global Funds (AGF) Service Providers Awards. The bank was also successful in five other categories, including Best Prime Services, Brokerage Services, Prime Broker – Capital Introduction and Technology Awards. The awards, acknowledging excellence in fund management across the continent, are in their fourth year and Investec has been successful in all previous editions, however this year marks the bank’s most comprehensive haul.

“It’s our fourth consecutive year being recognised by the AGF. In addition to ourconsistency, most pleasing perhaps, is being awarded Best Derivatives Clearing Provider in Africa. This accolade is a timely endorsement of the strides we have made over the past twelve months,” says Hamish James, Head of Prime Services at Investec.

“We were up against well established providers in the clearing category andcoming out ahead of a strong group of industry peers means a lot to the team and signifies that we are living up to our promise of out of the ordinary service,” adds James.

This also marks the first awards collection since establishing the bank’s InvestecFor Intermediaries division; set up to offer a holistic offering dedicated to intermediaries. The Prime Services team plays an integral role in this new division along with cash management, forex, structured products, specialist investments, bespoke investments and life investments.
