Mall of the South during #21dayslockdown:
JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, 25 March 2020 – In light of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s directive regarding the national lockdown, Mall of the South will be on lockdown at midnight from Thursday, 26 March 2020 and will continue for 21 days.
The purpose of the lockdown is to curb the spread of the cornovirus-2019 (covid-19) and to protect each other.
That said, essential services will be available to shoppers, which includes supermarkets, pharmacies, banks and veterinarian outlets. The following stores will therefore be trading during the lockdown period:
Supermarkets: Checkers, Game (TBC), Pick ‘n Pay and Woolworths.
Pharmacies: Clicks and Dischem
Banks: ABSA, Capitec, FNB, Nedbank and Standard Bank (banking hours apply)
Veterinarian outlets: Absolute Pets
Food Producer: Fournos Bakery
Mall of the South’s temporary trading hours are still in effect
Mondays to Saturdays from 9am to 6pm.
Sundays and Public Holidays from 9am to 5pm.
Please note that Good Friday is optional trade.
Shoppers must be informed that selected entrances will be open to gain access to the mall.
Gate 1 (by Aspen Hills) will be opened during the lockdown period. Please note that Gate 2 (Swartkoppies side) will be closed.
Shoppers are urged to use Gate 1 to gain access to Parking levels 1 and 2.
The following Entrances will remain open during the Lockdown period: 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9. Security will be at the entrances with hand sanitizers.
Kindly note that Entrance 2 will be open for taxi commuters and staff only. Entrances 1, 3 and 8 will remain closed.
Mall of the South wishes shoppers, staff and tenants to be safe during the lockdown period, and as Centre Manager Hester Smith said, “Together, we will get through this. Be safe.”
