Seminar to discuss the Future of Work in 4th Industrial Revolution

The Vice President for the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) for International Labour Organisation (ILO) and Global Spokesman for Employers, Mr Mthunzi Mdwaba, will deliver the keynote address at “The Future of Work in the 4th Industrial Revolution” seminar to be held at the University of the Western Cape (UWC), Bellville on 20 November 2018.

The Productivity SA Board chairman, Mdwaba, will be returning from Geneva, Switzerland after attending the Fourth Meeting of the Global Commission on the Future of Work of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) alongside South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and the Minister of Labour (DoL) Ms Mildred Oliphant in Geneva, Switzerland this week.

The Global Commission on the Future of Work was set up by the ILO in 2017 and is tasked with assessing the rapid transformation taking place in the world of work, identifying the key challenges and what must be done to make the future of work better and fairer. The work of the Global Commission aligns with the South African government‘s focus on the creation of decent and sustainable jobs, and efforts to ensure young South Africans have the skills necessary to thrive in the changing workplace.
