Wear SA Fashion Forward Peoples Runway:
Each year, WEAR SA holds fashion shows in shopping malls around Cape Town. This is in an effort to bring SA Fashion to the People and showcase how talented we are as a designing nation.
However the message that cool clothes are actually made in SA can be lost in translation. We have a statement to make – it’s time we took back our own future – putting our fashion foot forward to build a robust South Africa.
WearSA in partnership with the CTIJF is inviting all designers and the public to join the Runway.

The Competition
WEAR SA in partnership with the CTIJF is inviting all designers and members of the public to be part of the ’People’s Runway’, where a panel of judges will select the best dressed of them all.
How it works:
Each designer needs to be dressed in their own designs and encourage their followers to do so too.
Three best dressed designers will be selected as winners of the competition and the prizes include:
- 2 women’s wear designers who will be featured on Glamour Magazine
- 1 menswear designer who will be featured on the May issue of GQ Magazine.
These up and coming designers get to be part of the Wear SA community, which advocates for supporting local – designed and manufactured goods
In addition to the above, there will be a #IWEARSA male and female consumer winner who will walk away with clothing and other goodies
Objectives: To continue driving awareness around the importance of supporting local fashion – from design, pattern, cutting manufacture and even telling the story of fashion and more.
