Dim sum can be cooked by steaming and frying, among other methods. The dim sums are usually small and normally served as three or four pieces in one dish. It is customary to share dishes among all diners on the same table. Because of the small portions people can try a wide variety of food.
We are still waiting for our Liquor licence so please feel free to BYO until we get our licence sorted.

Hooters South Africa! Delightfully Tacky, Yet Unrefined. World famous restaurant known for our delicious food and the Hooters Girls.

Hooters was appropriately incorporated on April Fool’s Day, 1983, when six businessmen with absolutely no previous restaurant experience got together and decided to open a place they couldn’t get kicked out of. Soon after, on October 4th of that year, the doors to the first Hooters Restaurant opened in Clearwater, Florida. The now famous “Hooters Six” were: L.D. Stewart, a painting contractor; Gil DiGiannantonio, a liquor salesman; “Uncle Billy” Ranieri, a retired service station owner; Ed Droste, a real estate executive; Dennis Johnson, a brick mason by trade; and Ken Wimmer, a partner in the painting business with L.D. Strange group.
Out of their fertile imaginations – and more R & R than R & D – came the concept of Hooters. The restaurant would combine their favorite manly finger foods with the 50?s and 60?s music they felt best exemplified a happy, nostalgic time in most Americans’ memories. Then came the wood. Lots of wood. Walls, floors, tables, bars-Denny & L.D. put it everywhere, choosing T1-11 as the exterior of choice because it was the cheapest.
The irreverent sense of humor started with the creative menu saga written by Ken. It combined nicely with the most important element, the beautiful and vivacious Hooters Girls. The name “Hooters” came from a popular comedy sketch by one of the nation’s hottest comedians of that time, Steve Martin.
A Little History
Hooters of America, LLC is the Atlanta-based operator and franchiser of over 430 Hooters locations in 28 countries. The privately held corporation owns 160 units.
The first Hooters opened October 4, 1983, in Clearwater, Florida. The Original Six founders were quickly detained for impersonating restaurateurs, but fortunately for America, they were soon allowed to go about their business. During its history, the Hooters concept has remained true to its roots. The current logo, uniform, menu and ambiance are all very similar to what existed in the original store. This consistency is understandable given Hooters continued success and high ranking amongst the industry’s growth leaders.
The casual beach-themed establishments feature music, sports on large flat screens, and a menu that includes seafood, sandwiches, burgers, salads, and of course, Hooters original chicken wings. Others have arrived, departed, and even flat out copied our formula, but we remain the genuine original.
The Hooters Girl
Hooters is proud to have created a globally recognized icon. Obviously we’re talking about the owl in our logo. But in addition to that, the Hooters Girl has become a phenomenon of her own. Hooters Girls are the very essence of Hooters. Trained to excel in customer service, they provide the energy, charisma and engaging conversation that keep guests coming back. Much more than just a pretty face, Hooters girls have game. They’re intelligent and attentive – using their energy, experience and personalities to serve guests everywhere to live in the moment and take a break from the outside world.
Hooters is proud of the more than 300,000 Hooters alumnae who have grown into their own lives as mothers, wives, career-minded businesswomen and entrepreneurs, many becoming doctors, lawyers, authors, government officials and community leaders. Chances are you’ll see Hooters girls in your local community lending a hand to help some great organizations – from raising money for breast cancer research to recovery efforts after major storms.
Good Times On Tap
Our guests are our first priority. From the moment you walk in the door, you’re treated like family. Whether it’s a business lunch or a group who came to watch the game, we believe you deserve clean restaurants, great tasting food and our signature Hooters hospitality, all in a high-energy atmosphere.
Building on Hooters’ legacy of hot wings, seafood and sandwiches, we’ve been aggressively elevating the experience to the top of the food chain by evolving our menu to include a delicious selection of appetizers, fresh salads, hearty sandwiches and signature burgers. In addition to our ice-cold beer selection, we’ve expanded our beverage menu to include a variety of specialty drinks, wine and cocktails.
And we didn’t stop with the food and drinks. We like sports as much as you, so we installed more bigger, badder, flatter screens. Wherever you’re sitting, you’ll have front row seats to the game.
Hey, Neighbor
Communities, businesses and people across the world will all tell you that Hooters is one of the best neighbors they’ve ever had. And those amazing Hooters Girls are the quintessential, all-American “Girl next door”– smiling, friendly and committed to making sure every guest receives stellar Hooters hospitality.
Hooters is also increasing its commitment to the things that matter most – the communities we serve, the Hooters Girls we train and empower, and the causes we hold most dear.
Since the beginning, Hooters has been deeply involved in the communities we serve. Our reputation for caring and compassion sets Hooters apart, and shows the world that the beauty of our girls is hardly just skin deep.
The Hooters Community Endowment Fund (HOO.C.E.F.) raises money for local and national charities such as the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research, Make-A-Wish Foundation, the U.S.O., Special Olympics, American Diabetes Association, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and Muscular Dystrophy Association.
In 2006 Hooters partnered with the V Foundation for Cancer Research and established a $2 Million Breast Cancer Research Grant in the name of Kelly Jo Dowd. Kelly was the 1998 Hooters Calendar Cover Girl and cancer-fighting symbol who spent the last years of her life battling breast cancer.
In 2009, Hooters partnered with Operation Homefront to establish The Valentine Fund in honor of fallen hero SOCS Thomas J. Valentine. The fund supports the families of Special Forces service members and other military families. Hooters has donated $200,000 to the fund.
The American Way
You may or may not know that Hooters has taken some flak over the years. We’ve endured our share of frivolous lawsuits, but none have put a dent in our ability to provide some good, old-fashioned fun in a casual atmosphere free from the intervention of outside parties with nefarious motives. It took awhile, but we finally worked the word “nefarious” into casual conversation. The point is, we’re proud of who we are. Yes, we have a pretty face. And sex appeal is part of our thing, but it’s not the only thing.
As noted above, we are deeply involved in the communities we serve and support many charitable organizations, focusing on cancer research, disaster relief and the military.
It goes to show that you can’t judge a book by its cover. There will always be those out there looking to take a shot at us, or have the government dictate what we can or can’t do, but we’ll just take it in stride and continue our quest to provide a fun, enlightened atmosphere where you can enjoy the finer things in life. And really, what is so offensive about an owl, anyway?
Why Not?
We don’t think the awesomeness of Hooters should be confined to a restaurant, so we’ve tried some different things in the past. Some are still going strong. Some went out in a blaze of glory. All were a heck of a lot of fun.
Sports. Hooters had a great run as title sponsor of the National Golf Association Hooters Pro Golf Tour from 1988 to 2011, enjoying extensive television coverage and fan support. Other sponsored sports properties include Formula One powerboat racing and an AMA Motorcycle Team.
In 2003 the Hooters Brand literally took to the skies when Hooters Air Airline was launched. At its peak the airline served 15 cities including Nassau and Las Vegas. While Industry problems grounded the carrier in 2006, the venture will forever be a part of airline lore.
In 2006, the Hooters Casino Hotel in Las Vegas was opened at the site of the former San Remo Hotel. The 700-room property combines the signature Hooters experience with everything Vegas has to offer. Hallelujah.
Whatever the venture. Whatever the time, it all comes down to not being afraid to let loose and live a little. The first few decades have been a hoot, and the chain looks forward to a bright future. Hooters has no plans to alter the concept and feels doing so would be a tremendous disservice to its franchisees, employees, and you.

Welcome to Grass Roof, Port Elizabeth – Farm Stall, Restaurant, Bakery & Fresh Farm Produce.
Since opening its doors in 2013, The Grass Roof Coffee Shop and Farm Stall (on Olive Tree Farm) has become something of a Port Elizabeth landmark, what with its unique feature: a pitched roof covered in grass and wild flowers! You may actually think that your eyes are deceiving you when you drive down the Seaview Road, but that is not the case.
This wonderful eatery, on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth promotes a healthy, organic lifestyle and the roof, designed by young and hip architect Dal Venables, is a symbol of this.
Located just a few kilometres from Sardinia Bay on the corner of Heron Road and the New Seaview Road, Grass Roof offers a varied menu that promises hearty and delicious country meals, from breakfast comforts to lunchtime favourites.
Along with a smorgasbord of handcrafted pastries and cakes, including artisanal bread, baked fresh every day, Grass Roof also offers pizzas fired in their custom-built pizza oven.
The owners, Nicky and Mike Charlewood, have created a cheerful café and farm stall experience that captures the laid-back beach atmosphere that Port Elizabeth is justifiably famous for. On the weekends, children play outside on the lawn while parents catch up over coffees in the courtyard. On windy afternoons, customers retreat indoors to savour the warmth from Grass Roof’s indoor fireplace. The courtyard and verandahs offer extra seating for those busy days.
The rustic farm stall stocks wholesome farm produce – everything from craft olive oils and cheeses to fresh fruits and vegetables and free range eggs. Look for vibrantly coloured peppers grown across the street and delicious ciabatta bread baked on site.
Grass Roof is open seven days a week, from 8am to 5 pm
